
American Airlines launches seasonal Flights between Chicago and Idaho Falls

Connecting Idaho Falls With Chicago
A couple of days back, that’s on April 16, 2025, Idaho Falls Regional Airport; IDA, in a press conference for the city and airport, announcing the schedule, starting August 6, 2025. American Airlines will schedule daily non-stop flights to Chicago O’Hare International Airport; ORD. These itineraries, meanwhile, will be operated with CRJ700 aircraft until November 1, 2025.
American Airlines came up with the first new route from the regional airport since 2021. Many airports pointed to the airline company’s new service operating midday for easy connections to destinations on the East Coast of the US, Florida, and other international destinations out of Chicago.
The Mayor of Idaho Falls, Rebecca Casper, said the city was excited with its new service; ensuring summer months as the busiest for the airport. Talking further, he came up and praised flights to Chicago-O’Hare for travellers.
He even stated American Airlines is one of the excellent partners, adding it to be thrilled to welcome customers to the new service out of Idaho Falls-said by Joe Hughes-Managing Director of Government Affairs in American Airlines.
‘This new flight will offer customers convenient access to all that Chicago has to offer and shorter travel times with Americans to destinations like New York, Washington, DC, and global cities such as London and Barcelona.’
Seasonal service
American Airlines: CRJ700 flights between Idaho Falls and Chicago-O’Hare will be seasonal. It's going to be operational between August 6th and November 1st 2025. The data from aviation analytics company Cirum’s Diio Mi airline planning tool; flight and operated SkyWest Airlines departed Idaho at 12:30 local time, UTC-6.
It further ensures arrival at Chicago-O-Hare at 16:55 local time UTC -5. Further, the flight from Chicago-O’Hare will leave at 9:45 and will arrive at 12:00.
Between 17:05 and 17:10, carrier flights to Athens Airport; ATH, Pittsburgh International Airport; PIT, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport; DFW, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport; ANC, Quad Cities International Airport; MLI and Nashville International Airport; BNB.
The overall timing was between 17:00 and 20:00; American Airlines scheduled 79 departures from the Airport on 11th August 2025, as shown by Cirium’s Dii Mi.
Idaho Falls’ connectivity
In August Idaho Falls will induct on 11 different itineraries and 118 weekly departures to various airports across the USA-Cirium’s Diio Mi.
It will include United Airlines services to Denver International Airport, DEN, with 42 weekly departures, Allegiant Air with twice-a-week flights to Denver, and four daily take-offs on Delta Air Lines flights from Idaho Falls to Salt Lake City International Airport, SLC.
However, in Feb, the airport had 84 weekly flights to various cities in the US, including United Airlines, with four daily departures to Denver and Delta Air Lines.
It further schedules three daily departures to Salt Lake City and Alaska Airlines-13 weekly flights to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport; SEA.
The latest master plan came for six primary commercial airports by Idaho Falls with Boise Airport; BOI. The other five are; Idaho Falls with non-hub airports.
